Aslan is Ready to Come Home!

Aslan began the day by helping Will prepare for the talk he gave to the Oxford C. S. Lewis Society tonight. All went well thanks to Aslan.

Aslan spent much of the day walking around Oxford with his new friends: Jim and Michelle.

Along the way, Aslan found a postbox. Is this the way to get home?

Aslan also got to visit his favorite bookstore in Oxford--Saint Phillip's.

And he also saw something having to do with another famous children's story.

But now Aslan is very ready to come home and see Becky, James, Jonathan & Joshua!

At the Kilns ...

Aslan had to switch bedrooms this morning, from here ...

Because the painters are fixing up his old bedroom. Aslan likes the new bedroom because there are some familiar photos on the wall....

He had another delicious breakfast in the dining room....


Then he went exploring and found ... a typewriter belonging to an old friend of his: Warnie Lewis....

Then in the Common Room he discovered a desk that reminded him of his favorite author....

as well as seeing some of his favorite books....

However, exploring outside The Kilns, up at the Pond, was what Aslan liked best.

After visiting the pond he went for a drive with Will at the wheel. He must admit the drive was a bit scary!

Then Aslan met Will's new friend Jim at a delightful little pub called The Perch....

A Day of Rest

Aslan was so tired today that he stayed home at The Kilns all day and rested. Doesn't he look cozy? And what is Sunday all about anyway if not a day of rest?

Since no one was at home with Aslan we don't really know if he found a way into Narnia through the wardrobe and back again. And he isn't telling us anything about how he spent his day.

A Busy Saturday

This was the view out his bedroom window when Aslan woke up this morning. Beautiful!

Then he went for a drive in the car, on the left hand side of the street no less!

And he ended up at the Rainbow Fayre at the Methodist Church near Watford.

From there it was on to a book-signing for a friend who has written a lot about Aslan.

After watching so many books be signed by his friend, Aslan was hungry. So he asked to be taken to a pub. He was taken by his friends, Anne and Steve, to the Rose & Crown, which was very nice indeed.

Now it is the end of the day and Aslan is in a different place, where he will spend the next four days. It is called the Kilns and it is the place where a man named C. S. Lewis lived, as you will no doubt know. Aslan is going to sleep in C. S. Lewis' old bedroom ... and there is a wardrobe there. Now he's wondering if this wardrobe might lead back to Narnia. Hmmmm.

Arrival

Aslan arrived in England early this morning, flying over Big Ben and the London Eye. The picture above shows what it looked like from the air!

Steve and Anne Jenkins are very graciously hosting Aslan in their home for the night. They took Aslan and his friend Will Vaus to this nice coffee shop in Watford, a suburb of London....

He also got to see this portrait of a familiar looking lion....


Now Aslan is planning his route to Oxford for tomorrow....

Waiting at the Gate

Aslan is waiting with his bag, by Gate A32 at Washington Dulles. He's all ready to go to England.

It's getting dark. We hope the plane takes off soon. It won't be long now....

Leaving Home

I thought you would like to see Aslan in his native habitat before he crosses the pond to England. Actually, he is on his way to visit the place where many of these books were written. Though he cannot meet his creator at least he will get to stay in his home.
